Responsible Innovation & Development Alliance, Inc. ("RIDA lab", "we", "us") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This policy explains what personal information we collect through theridalab.org, why we collect it, and what we do with it.
What we collect
When you join our mailing list. Your email address, and your name if you give it.
When you take one of our surveys. The answers you provide. Our surveys ask about your financial circumstances, attitudes and priorities. You may skip any question, and we ask that you not put information that identifies you — account numbers, for example — into free-text answers.
Automatically, when you visit. Our website provider records standard technical information: your IP address, browser type, the pages you view and the time of your visit. The site also sets cookies it needs in order to work, including a session identifier and a security token.
Why we collect it
- To send you updates about RIDA lab's work, if you asked for them
- To understand what people need from financial systems — the research that guides our programs
- To keep the website working and secure
We do not use your information to make decisions about you as an individual.
What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade or share it with anyone for their own marketing. We do not use survey responses to contact you unless you separately joined our mailing list.
Who else sees it
We use service providers who handle information on our behalf and only on our instructions:
- Zoho Corporation — hosts our website and our survey tool
- Google LLC — provides our email
We share information beyond this only where the law requires it.
How we use survey results
We publish and share survey findings in aggregate — combined, summarized form that does not identify anyone. Where we quote a response directly, we remove anything that could identify the person who gave it.
How long we keep it
Mailing list: until you unsubscribe, after which we remove your address.
Survey responses: for as long as the research is in use. [state a period if you have one]
Your choices
- Unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, or by writing to us.
- Ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will respond within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live you may have further rights under local law. Write to us and we will honor them.
Children
Our website and surveys are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will post any change on this page and update the date above. If a change is significant we will say so to our mailing list.
